Tandemodus
Design + Strategy
The Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies’s new state-of-the-art facility designed by Krueck & Sexton Architects, was created to share the wealth of innovative public programming, exhibitions, collections, research facilities and degree programs. Tandemodus partnered with Spertus and it’s creative team to redesign it’s quarterly calendar publication as well as the grand opening gala invitation and public grand opening announcement. Spertus challenged the Tandemodus team to create innovative communication tools that coincide with it’s grand opening that reflects the design aesthetic, energy and innovation of it’s new home.
Our research process began with extensive internal staff interviews that allowed us to learn about the multi-faceted offerings as well as the current and expanding demographic of the Spertus Institute. We were able to evaluate the history, vision and future of the organization by touring both the new and old facilities. We developed a new system of organization and identification for each department for it’s quarterly calendar, a clean and elegant gala invitation focusing on the new building and a dynamic public invitation focusing on it’s ground-breaking public programming and grand opening events.
New quarterly design allowed Spertus to double their mailing list and reduce their overall printing costs by half. Tandemodus turned over user-friendly design files for the internal design department for future collateral.
“The calendar looks really nice and staff feedback is great, thanks!” says Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies Director of Institutional Outreach, Betsy Gomberg.
