Tandemodus

A Brief History

The partnership of Andy Eltzroth and Kelly Komp is one of a storied path. In 2000, they met as eager professionals trying to figure their place in the world. From the onset of their first conversation, the seemingly harmless question was asked, “what do you want to do when you grow up?” Having no idea what implications this question would bring in the future, they parted ways.

Over the course of the next six years they worked collectively in more than a dozen different design studios before crossing paths again in Chicago. They grew as individuals and learned what it meant to run a successful business from world-class studios such as Vanderbyl Design, C2, and Kym Abrams Design, as well as some admittedly dysfunctional studios. Equipped with both the good, the bad, and the ugly, the question arose again, “what do you want to do now that you’re grown up?“ As they say, the rest is history.
